About Us

The ACF program started out as a satellite meeting to the 2019 Adelaide HUPO world congress. The event brought together staff from a range of mass spectrometry core facilities to discuss the common challenges they face. From those small beginnings, the ACF has grown into a community that continues to address those challenges through the sharing of knowledge and ideas as well as developing practical ways to help facilities improve and develop.

The ACF holds regular meetings as well as an annual survey of facilities. It is also running a multicentre testing initiative that lets facilities benchmark the performance of common workflows.

The facilities that are involved come from Universities, Research Institutes and Industry. The range enormously is size and the breadth of services they support and how they go about supporting those services. The commonality is that they have one or more mass spectrometers and that they are support the research activities of a number of research groups.

Partners

The ACF is proud to partner with ANZSMS and APS and we aim to complement the activity of societies by providing a forum for core facility staff and to show case best practice in facility management.

We also partner with community-focussed organisations like Mass Dynamics who provide platforms for us to run community initiatives.
